George Papastefanatos

Dr. George Papastefanatos is a research associate with University of Athens and Athena Research Center. He holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a PhD in Computer Science from the National Technical University of Athens. George is actively involved as a researcher and technical manager in several RTD projects related to the European Open Science Cloud activities. He is the technical manager of eInfraCentral project. eInfraCentral offers the service catalogue functionality in the newly launched EOSC portal, i.e., a single gateway for all E-Infrastructure services across Europe. He is also leading the technical activities in CatRIS project, which builds the catalogue of services of Research Infrastructures. He will be working as a principal researcher in Neanias Project, one of the projects funded by the INFRAEOSC-02 call, whose goal is to develop and deliver to the EOSC innovative, sustainable services from the Atmosphere, Underwater & Space Communities. He has participated in EOSCPilot, designing the specifications of the EOSC Open science monitoring framework and in OpenAΙRΕ where he leads the Linked open data services and the Open Science observatory of the project. George's expertise is in the area of big data management, data services on the cloud and data analytics and specifically in issues related to the web data and linked data modelling, data integration, archiving and preservation, information visualization and exploration.
