Jan Hrušák

Jan Hrusak obtained PhD (Dr. rer. nat) in physical chemistry and spectroscopy at the Technical University of Leuna-Merseburg (Germany) in 1987. Since then he has been working in several countries around the globe, before joining the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences where he became deputy head of the Department of chemical physics. In 2001 he is elected member to the general assembly of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech republic and he served two terms in its executive body being responsible for European issues. J. Hrusak has been serving as Director general for research at Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (2011-2012). At present, is Dr. Hrusak delegate to European Strategy Forum on Research infrastructures ESFRI (Chair since 01/2019), delegate and Steering board member of the European research and innovation area committee (ERAC), and member of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) . The professional interest of Dr. Hrusak is computational chemistry and HPC modeling of processes in astrochemistry. He is an author/coauthor of c. 100 scientific articles in highly ranked scientific journals and several chapters in books. (WOS over 3200 citation - Hirsch-index 32).
