Organisation:
HEAL-Link Consortium (Hellenic Academic Libraries Link)
Professional Title:
Coordinator of the Steering Committee for Electronic Resources

Coordinator of the Steering Committee for Electronic Resources at HEAL-Link. HEAL-Link is the National Greek Consortium, operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, serving all academic and research institutions (total 43 members). It was established in 1998 and its primary goal is to negotiate with publishers and vendors the best licensing terms and prices for electronic resources and to support the educational and research mission of its members.

In my role as a coordinator of the steering committee for electronic resources for our national consortium HEAL-Link (Hellenic Academic Libraries Link) I am involved in policy making and negotiations with a number of major academic publishers and providers. Further to negotiations and licensing, I am involved in new projects for the academic community funded by the Ministry of Education and supported by HEAL-Link, such as the national infrastructure for research data. The services offered by HEAL-Link have played a catalytic role in the national research and academic output and have changed users’ attitude towards the library services in general.
