Marta Hoffman-Sommer has an academic background in molecular biology. She has earned a PhD in biochemistry and has worked as a postdoc in the Theoretical Biophysics Group at the Humboldt-University in Berlin. Currently she is a researcher in plant molecular biology in the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland. She has also spent several years working as a staff member of the Open Science Platform at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling (ICM) at the University of Warsaw, where she led the Polish National Open Access Desk (NOAD) of the OpenAIRE project and was responsible for launching the Repository for Open Data (RepOD) – a service for the Polish academic community. During this time she was engaged in many initiatives related to open access to research outputs and opening of research data, and she was teaching Research Data Management to PhD students and young researchers from all disciplines.

In the Working Group, Marta will bring her experience in communicating with researchers from all backgrounds about how to manage their data and how to share it with others, and about open practices in science in general.
