Panagiotis MOSCHOPOULOS is working in the Open Science Unit in the Directorate General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) of the European Commission and is one of its representatives to the EOSC Sustainability Working Group. He was previously employed as a project officer in the Research Training Networks and in the Research Infrastructures programmes as well as a policy officer in the European Technology Platforms activity. He has then contributed to launching the Joint Undertakings implementing the Joint Technology Initiatives under the Seventh and the Horizon 2020 Framework Programmes. He moved on to work as legal officer in the DG RTD legal unit and he was later appointed as Head of the "Partnerships" sector in the Horizon 2020 Common Legal Support Service. In particular, his work consisted in providing legal support to the Commission Directorate Generals implementing the Horizon 2020 programme in the areas of Joint Undertakings, participation in national programmes (Article 185 TFEU initiatives), European Research Infrastructures Consortia (ERICs) and contractual Public Private Partnerships (cPPPs). He holds degrees in Earth Sciences, EU law and International Politics.
