Simone Campana

Simone Campana is senior staff member at CERN and currently the deputy project leader of the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG). In this role ha is focusing on the long-term evolution of the software and the infrastructure in preparation for the High Luminosity LHC upgrade. He obtained his PhD in Particle Physics at the University of California in 2003 and worked software and distributed computing projects since then. He was project leader of the Data Management system of the ATLAS experiment at CERN, the responsible for ATLAS distributed computing, the WLCG Service and Operations coordinator and the ATLAS Software and Computing Coordinator. He is leading the work package on Data Infrastructure for Open Science in the European ESCAPE project.
