EOSC Interest Group on Researcher Engagement and Use Cases: A Collection of EOSC Use Cases

  • By Katharina Flicker

Many EOSC Use Cases and EOSC in practice stories have been carried out since the EOSC initiative was launched. Given the amount of EOSC related projects, however, keeping track of and learning from the plenty experiences gathered is often a hard thing to do. Thus, the EOSC Interest Group (IG) Researcher Engagement and Use Cases recognized the need for a collection of these EOSC Use Cases to demonstrate the impact of Open Science and the use of data from different disciplines and organized an online meeting to bring together EOSC stakeholders who are involved in a wide spectrum of EOSC related projects, share experiences and initiate further discussions.

Consequently, a first online meeting to review co-creation-funded Covid19-projects was scheduled on 3 September 2020. A total of 35 representatives of the respective projects and members of the IG participated in three dedicated sessions and discussed 14 Use Cases. Even though each project has its own unique properties, synergies were identified. The participants not only shared their contacts, but also expressed their interest in the outcomes of the Covid19 activities and asked for another meeting to be organized in spring 2021.
