EOSC Symposium 23: Call for Unconference Sessions
This year, the EOSC Symposium will take place in Madrid, Spain, from 20-22 September 2023. The event is being co-organised by the EOSC Future project, the European Commission, the EOSC Association and the EOSC Steering Board, and registration is open for both in-person and online participation.
In addition to the highly anticipated event program, we are thrilled to introduce an exciting opportunity for active participation and shaping of the conversation: the EOSC Unconference sessions!

Format and Conditions
An unconference session can focus on open topics that are important to you but are not already included in the main agenda. These sessions can be in the form of a panel discussion, lightning talk, or workshop, allowing you to showcase your research interests and stimulate engaging conversations.
To apply, you need to:
- Be registered to attend the EOSC Symposium 2023 in person in Madrid.
- Prepare an outline of your topic, explaining its relevance to the goals of EOSC.
- Deliver a 1-minute pitch explaining why your topic should be chosen for the unconference.
Remember: Make sure your topic is distinct from those already covered in the main program!
Deadline
The call for unconference sessions is open until July 14, 2023. Please note that only on-site participants can avail themselves of the unconference sessions.
Once the application period ends, your fellow attendees at the Symposium, who will be present in person, will review the submissions and select a total of 6 unconference sessions. The results will be announced during the week of August 23 to allow all participants sufficient time to vote during the summer.
Don't miss this exceptional chance to contribute to the EOSC Symposium 2023. Let your unconference session ignite transformative discussions!
